Decisive Moments: Preparing Your School System for Emergency Communications Response
For many people, school emergencies bring to mind thoughts of high-profile incidents across the country. However, research shows that our school systems are more likely to experience a variety of other events, including the death of a student or employee or another non-lethal incident. In times of emergencies, our response is measured in minutes. The longer we take to respond, the more trust and credibility we risk losing.
During this session, we will discuss several decisive moments and how they led to the creation of an emergency communications plan. You will understand the need to research and plan for an emergency event; review the most probable emergencies; and draft a list of materials to include in your emergency communications toolbox.
