It’s Back-to-School Season! That means it’s the one time of year when all major media outlets are interested in covering positive stories about your schools!
Whether you’re experienced in pitching to the media or just starting out, this session will provide you with helpful tips and insight:
How to gain positive press stories for your district during the back-to-school season
The value of building relationships with reporters, editors, and producers now while things are going well… and how that will help you later when bad things inevitably happen
Strategies and templates on crisis communications
You must be a member of NESPRA to attend.

PANELISTS
Ben Dickie
Communications Coordinator, Essex Westford Schools, VT
Ben has worked in communications for more than 20 years. He has extensive media relations experience which includes working for a public relations agency, in K-12 education, and college athletics.
Dan O’Brien
Communications Director, Minuteman Regional Technical School District, Lexington, MA
A former journalist, Dan gained a wealth of media relations and crisis communications experience in his prior role as Press Secretary for Boston Public Schools. He understands the dynamics of both large and small districts.
Rochelle Santos
Media and Communications Manager, Framingham Public Schools, MA
Rochelle oversees communications in a highly diverse, suburban district west of Boston. She has built on her experience communicating with families during critical situations to develop templates and resources for her district and NESPRA members.
Andrew Toland
Communications Director, Manchester School District, NH
Andrew has a depth of media relations experience overseeing communications for the largest school district in northern New England and as a former reporter.
